Though some adolescent boys will sometimes refuse to admit it at first, they may not always be the best at hiding their true feelings for a girl. Although the only surefire way to know if a boy likes someone is often to ask him directly and wait for his response, there are some other ways to take an educated guess to see if a guy is really interested. Here are two useful tips to help you in determining whether a boy likes you.
Notice his attitude toward you among others
One of the first steps to be aware of is to take notice of a guy’s particular attitude toward you and other girls. If a boy treats a girl like most of his other female friends, it is more likely a possibility that he only likes her as such. However, if a boy sometimes appears to single you out, give you special attention, or do his best to make you feel special, there may be something there. Boys can be as deceiving now and then, too — he may very well try to flirt with others around you to see how you respond. Though this can be confusing, realize that this may just be a ploy in order to ascertain if you become jealous or not. Keep your cool, and act accordingly.
Pay attention to his body language
Like females, a male’s body language is often a key to his true feelings. Subconsciously, if a boy is interested in you, he will unknowingly lean toward you often, may offer some form of hand contact, look in your direction frequently, or not turn his back. It is a natural human tendency to want to be close, personal, and focused on one’s object of affection, even if that girl does not know that she is yet. By paying close attention to such things, it is possible to pick up on a boy’s notice or friendly body language toward you. For example, if a guy makes a funny joke in a small group of people, a smart idea is to keep one’s eyes on him. If the boy glances in your direction to see if you in particular laugh, he is obviously interested in gaining your approval, and in turn, commanding your attention.
If you focus and adhere to these two helpful tips, you may very well notice if a guy you have your eyes on also has his eyes on you. Sometimes asking if he’s interested in a friendly way can make things easier, but either way, it is often sheer intuition that can enable one to know if a boy truly likes you.
